Fall Home Tour 2016
Happy first day of fall, everyone! Does it feel like it appeared so suddenly to anyone else?!! September has been flying by and I’ve had a great time transforming the decor a little bit to fit the season. I haven’t used a lot of the traditional autumn oranges and browns this year, but somehow it turned out to be one of my favorite looks for my house for fall! I wish I could have you all over for some hot cider and pumpkin muffins, but this will have to do for now! I hope you like it…
Starting in the family room– remember when I posted the lemongrass velvet and navy inspiration pic on Instagram? Well, I found the lemongrass velvet on eBay, and it’s everything I dreamed it would be. To go along with it, I found a gorgeous Ralph Lauren tablecloth to use to make the blue print pillows. (Remember my post on DIY zippered pillow covers here? SO easy!)
And then there’s my newly-covered ottoman I posted about here. It goes well with the dreamy, velvety navy blue fabric I found at Hobby Lobby for this pillow…
And because I love that fabric so much, I went back for more to make a throw for the sofa…
I just bought a yard and a half, and sewed a double-rolled hem all the way around. Since the back has a silky feel, it’s a super-soft and comfy throw for fall!
I found a pair of great feathery gray pillows at Marshall’s for the gray chairs, and moved my gold garden stool from the screened porch to inside by the fireplace…
My favorite piece in this room is still our Riemann tufted sofa from Home Decorator’s Collection that I first wrote about here. It’s so easy to switch it up for the seasons with just the change of pillows!
In the breakfast room, I just made a few minor changes. I went with the watercolor leaf art I shared on Instagram and just added a little green pumpkin and some sparkly accessories.
On the table, I switched up a mercury glass vase with a little twine and filled it with some laurel stems from the yard– Still one of my favorite kinds of arrangements!

The kitchen just got a few fall touches as well…
Do you have a light box sign yet? These are so fun!! Especially for parties and seasonal decorating! Click here for a great deal on one with over 100 letters and symbols!
And then, of course, I have fall chalkboard art. I shared more about this and a free printable of this here in case you missed it!
In the dining room, I set the tone with some of my favorite thrift store dishes for fall…
I also made some pillows for this room with this cute black and white buffalo check fabric. I have a feeling I’ll be keeping these through Christmas!
And my favorite easy DIY project I’ve done recently is the faux wood sign in the piano room. The entire 10-minute project how-to is in this post in case you missed it.
I’m still tweaking the front porch, and this post was getting way too long as it is, so that will be coming soon! I hope you enjoyed this! Stop back by anytime, and I’d love to have you on my email subscriber list if you’d like to be notified of new posts! Happy Fall, y’all!

Your home is beautiful. Love it all.2 questions, where did you find the adorable photos of doors above the console table? And is your crown molding, painted the same color as your fireplace surround? Thanks Julie. 🙂

Thanks so much! The door pics are mine that I took in Europe 🙂 And the crown molding is painted white, but the fireplace mantel is more of an ivory. It’s cast stone, not painted. Hope that helps you!

Love the untraditional fall colors. Very inspiring getting away from the usual orange. Please share where the white pumpkins with what appear to be metal rustic leaf, are from?

Thanks, Cindy! Those pumpkins are Some I’ve had for years. Many people have asked about them, so I searched for some… Couldn’t find the exact, but I found some similar ones and linked them on my Facebook page if you’re interested.
