Fall-ing into Christmas with New Abstract Deer Silhouette Art! (a Giveaway!)
Everywhere you look it seems like Christmas is the new fall. And I get it–it’s so much fun to decorate for Christmas and such a short time to enjoy it! But we’re holding off just a little longer here at our house. No Christmas tree yet, but I did put up a little festive art that works well for both fall and winter!
It’s my new deer silhouette abstract art, and it brings a great pop of color to the kitchen!
I started with this empty frame I Instagrammed about and gave it a couple quick coats of my favorite gold spray paint.
I used a 140 lb art paper from Hobby Lobby as my canvas, backed with some foam board for stability.
Using this free deer template, I enlarged it, printed it and pieced it together to get my pattern.
Then, I simply laid the pattern over the paper and outlined the image with a dull pencil to impress the outline onto the paper.
So I gathered my acrylic craft paints in the colors I liked and practiced a little to see what worked!
Then, I just filled in the outline on my paper! I just simply layered similar shades of paint, letting them overlap each other.
And adding touches of metallic gold gave it a little more dimension.
I think it’s just right for our falling-into-Christmas kitchen! It’ll be decked out like the rest of the house soon enough!
What about you? If you’d like a print of this to bring a pop of color to your space, I’ve made them available for alimited time in my Etsy shop! Justclickhere for all the details.
And just for a special thankyou to my readers, I’m offering one 11×14 print in agiveaway! To enter, just comment here, on my Facebook page, or on my Instagram!
