Game Room Gallery Wall
So, yes, the home decorating and DIY have slowed down a little around here this Summer due to the fact that lying by the pool, playing games, and laughing out loud with friends have taken priority. That’s not to say you can’t often combine these things, which is why this project happened recently.
A game room gallery wall has been on my mental Pinterest board for a while now, and I’ve been collecting up the different pieces until I finally found enough to put it together…
Of course there’s a chalkboard, which I found for $5 at a yard sale on the way home from picking the kids up from school one day in the Spring. (I bought 2 of them and the other one is huge. Waiting for inspiration to strike on that one.) The tennis rackets were thrifted for $3 each, but I think I had some just like them when I was a kid.
Scrabble letter tiles were from Hobby Lobby on a sale week, as was the Twister clock.
The red shelf is this one from IKEA, which (of course) I can’t pronounce. But the price is so cheap it’s ridiculous. It’s perfect for holding our vintage bowling pin, a bucket of billiard balls (from Pottery Barn), and the light-up arrow from Target.
But, my favorite item is the Yahtzee game, which used to belong to my grandparents. I played this with my sister and brother and cousins many times at my Mamaw and Papaw’s house, and I just think it’s awesome. And it has the original price tag from Kmart — $1.84! I love it. (By the way… you can get a classic Yahtzee just like thisoriginal by clicking hereon thisaffiliate linkto Amazon!)
So, yeah, sometimes it is all play and no work. And since this is our last week of Summer, we’ve got a lot of fun to cram in. Hope you’re all living it up until the last second. Are you ready for school to start?

I love Yahtzee! Looking good! School doesn't start for my daughter until the the very end of Aug so we have more to for fun!

This is such a clever design! I love that you mixed actual vintage pieces with new pieces from Target and Hobby Lobby. That's how I like to decorate, too. Looks like a fun room for spending time!

This turned out so great! Our playroom will soon be turned into a game room with a pool table and foosball and I have wanted to do a fun gallery wall as well. I've considered framing game boards and hanging them on the wall. Is that arrow a recent find at Target? I love it and it would go perfect in my oldest sons room. I tried finding it online but couldn't.

Thank you! Yes, the arrow is a recent buy from Target! It's with the new college dorm decor. Hope you can find one!
