The Head of the Table
I knew from the gasps when I pulled him out of the box that the family wasn’t going to be completely accepting of him.
And maybe it was a little creepy just having a head sitting there on the table.
But my latest find from Joss and Main was just right on the porch once I found him a nice green head of “hair”. They call it the Apollo Planter, but I call it a little shot of eclecticism for the screened porch.
It’s true– the kids have called him everything from “Freaky Face” to “Dead Guy”, but I think now he may be growing on them. I mean who couldn’t love a face like that?
He’s just a classic, yet unique piece of art for the screened porch. Totally harmless.
Okay, except maybe at night. He can be a little creepy at night.
What’s your latest find from Joss and Main?

I spent quite a bit of time last week searching for a head planter or bust! I'll start watching more closely at J&M. Love him! I'm sure your kids will come around… 🙂

Haha – I love this! I bought a bust planter from Home Goods and stuck it on our bedroom dresser….which was a no go. The husband was a little creeped out. 🙂 So, he hops around from the kitchen, to the living room, to the back patio. I love him!

Funny you should say that–I actually bought a bust for my dresser recently, too, and my husband was like "What!??" It may end up somewhere else, too! 🙂

I laughed out loud at your head! Or your bust's head, not yours. [LOL]
I have a head that is very Roman, like yours. Mine, however, has sea shells for hair. It's quite sculputural.
I lost a tree to a tornado a few years ago, and had my then-DH cut the trunk off about 3' high. I hollowed it out and sat my head there, filling him with bright, scarlet tulips from Wally-mart. He deserved color. Every time I look out and the red catches my eye, I laugh.
I think everyone needs a head.

Ha! That's great. I'm thinking mine may end up outdoors at some point, too, if he keeps making everyone uncomfortable inside!
