Living Room Christmas Mantel
Every year I say I’m going to keep the Christmas decorating simple. And then I get into it and have so much fun, blasting the Michael Bublé Holiday Pandora station and thinking up that “one more idea” that before I know it, every last hall is decked.
But, that’s just how we do it here. My family loves it, I love it, and I’m pretty sure if you’re reading this, you love it that way, too.
So, I have a lot of Christmas bliss to share with you over the next several days, and if you’re looking for inspiration, maybe you’ll find some here.
I had a lot of fun in the formal living room (which we call the Piano Room) this week, getting it all dressed up for Christmas, and here’s what it looks like at the moment.
I found the tree on Black Friday and although it wasn’t quite the same story as last year, it’s simply divine and I only wish you could see it in person.
On the mantel, I’ve got a chalkboard because I’m kinda crazy about chalkboard art right now, and I hope you like it, too, because you’ll see more of it in my Christmas décor later.
And then there are the angel wings, which I’ve been seeing a lot of lately and really loving, yet didn’t want to invest a lot of money in, so I made some myself. I’m writing up the tutorial on these as fast as I can for those of you who would like your own pair, but I was inspired by this pair of wings on Pinterest. Before you click over, who can guess what they’re made from? Fire up your glue guns, girls, this was super-easy.
The wreath on the lantern, a few pine cones, and my little glittery church seemed to make it just right..
Hope you like it! You can see more posts on this room by clicking here.
Tons more Christmas coming up!

Beautiful! I love your tree and your room is gorgeous all dressed up for the holidays! (I'm quickly becoming chalkboard-obsessed also, so you're not alone!)

Julie- It looks just beautiful. You have done a wonderful job. As far as being spare and bare- I start out thinking that and then go…what the heck…let the decking the halls begin! xo Diana

What a sweet room. I love the light-colored Christmas decor…it's so soft and pretty. I also really love the ribbon in the garland on your mantel. And can I just say that your ceiling is amazing?! Thanks so much for sharing — looking forward to seeing what's next!
