Christmas Cafe Shelves and a Deer Named Merry
If you had told me a couple of years ago that I’d have a deer head hanging in my house right now, I’d have called you crazy. But, whatdya know– trends change, tastes change, and sometimes you end up loving something you never thought you would. So, I guess it’s officially deer season at our house…
When I first found the pattern for this 3D foam core deer head, I knew I had to make one or I’d die. For those of you now in that same critical condition, click here for the pattern ASAP.
We call her “Merry”, ever since Lola exclaimed at breakfast, “Oh! Now I get it. The deer’s named Merry!”
And since “Merry” goes so well with “Christmas”, I made a little “chalkboard” banner with black card stock and chalk. (I love that trick!)
Instead of a candle, I went with a wreath in the red lantern, with a piece of scrapbook paper for a backdrop.
I think this may have been the fastest styling job I’ve done on these shelves, but it may also be my favorite. I know–I think I say that every time. Everybody needs some of these shelves. They’re so fun! Click here to see some past seasons and click here to see where I’m sharing.

So fun and festive, Julie! Love how you thought outside the box for filling your lantern. And, I know what you mean about the deer. Not too long ago I was in the same boat. Even tonight on the phone with my sis we were trying to decide how many deer related heads, antlers, etc. were TOO many! 🙂

Oh deer, Merry is just too pretty for words! 😉 And as an aside, can I just say that I love your dining room table shape and the abundance of chairs? What a gorgeous set-up!
