I would share with you if it wasn't for the fact that we are just having our immediate family Christmas today! That's because three of four of our son-in-laws are pastors and could not be away from their church on Sunday. Hope you have fun! I plan to!

Well I'm here looking at the tree, it has to come down today as I leave town tomorrow. Its a real tree so there is no getting around taking it down. Sure wish I had some kids at home to help, enjoy your day with your children as you build Christmas memories.

Here in the UK we don't usually take down our decorations until Twelfth Night (6th Jan). We usually take ours down on 2nd Jan though as I like them to be gone by the time school starts again.

Superstition says that should you leave a decoration up after 6th Jan it's bad luck and must be left up until the next Christmas!!

I always leave my decorations up till well past new years…the 12th day of chirstmas isn't until jan 6..I guess that is because I am from Scotland..I find the week between christmas and new years is when I can actually enjoy what I have done…as before christmas is too busy..oh that and I am lazy and hate doing it haha Merry Christmas and Happy New Year..cheers Frances

We always leave our decorations up until after New Year's Day. The kids always spend New Year's Eve and there is joy in them still to see the tree up and decorated. This year I am going to try to sort out as I pack away. I am starting to downsize and pass some of my Christmas along to some of my kids- xo Diana

We enjoy the 12 days of Christmas and don't take our tree down until after the Epiphany when gifts were traditionally exchanged. Of course we don't put our tree up until a week or two before Christmas Day. I love extending Christmas for a while. Its no fun to take all the decorations down and put them away. Such a chore!

We are on the same page. I don't know what got into me this year, but yesterday everything came down with the exception of the exterior lights. It's all packed away and in the basement. It was festive and pretty, but…. I am ready for a fresh start for the New Year.

Since I am just out of the hospital and supposed to be taking it slow….I am planning a stage by stage take down. First – writing in a a small notebook of where we decorated and how, while hubby brings down all the containers. Then Purge the containers of unused decorations that I don't love, and bag them for the trunk of the car. Next, tape the notebook to the inside of the lid and pack away the house decorations. Last step for tonight, empty the tree of baubles. TOMORROW – store tree and lights and wreathes. It will be a sad good bye but a I'm looking forward to a fresh new year and some new goals!!

I actually had my achilles repaired a few days before Christmas and am excited that I get to keep Christmas up a little longer!!! I used to take down right away, but I really like the week after of sparkly lights and relaxation! So I won't be checking on you in case you decide to enjoy it a little longer!!

BTW… when I do need the motivation I just start taking a few things down and putting them on the table. Once I get started, I can't stop and I'm in full blown "clean-up" mode!

Since my father in law is coming into town for our "Christmas" for New Years, we're leaving ours up 'till the first week of January. Then I'll probably do it that weekend. No kids though, so it'll just be me. I think it might help if I have something cute & new to place in some of the Christmas decor's places. Hum…

My husband asked if we should tackle the Christmas decorations today and I said "no, let's enjoy them awhile longer". I just love having the tree on at night and the cozy-ness of the extra lighting around. I'll think about it *after* New Years 🙂
