Painted Canvas Table Runner
Here’s a simple idea for your table that’s been done several times before, but the possibilities are so endless, you can still create a design that’s all yours.Start with one of my all-time favorites: the canvas drop cloth. (If you’ve never bought one of these, they’re in the paint section at Wal-Mart, Lowes, or Home Depot.)Cut a piece to fit your table and sew up the sides & ends to finish the edges. OR, leave the edges raw for a little more rustic look. Then you have a blank canvas to do whatever you want with. You could use the freezer paper method to paint a crisp design or monogram, or use a stamp & a paint brush like I did on one recently.Adding ribbon & trim can give it a completely different look as well.Want more inspiration? seriously love all of these ideas. I would love to make some for the Traveling Door but one of my friends has done runners and I don't want to step on any toes. Still, I may just run this by her. These are just too great not to try.
Thanks for sharing.

It's just lovely! I guess I need to go get a fresh new dropcloth for a runner. Maybe I'll get a couple – just 'cause mine are pretty grody. Thanks for sharing the other runners too!

I love it! What a great idea to use paint on it. I have boring one right now with only a ruffle on each end. I'm thinking this would be a fun thing to try.
