The Power of White
I’m calling this “Paint Color Week” here at my blog, because in case you haven’t heard, I’m hosting a Paint Color Party right here starting Thursday. I’m trying to get the word out because I think it will be great to have a one-stop shop for paint color shopping. So, start thinking now about the colors you’d like to share with us & then stop by each day this week to see some of my faves. And my first favorite I’d like to share with you is none other than white. If you’re a decorator (professional or otherwise) you know that this nonsense about white not really being a color is just that– nonsense. White is not only a color, but a very powerful one. It’s peaceful, clean, & calming. And if white is what you’re looking for, I’ve got a great one for you. It’s called Nebulous White by Sherwin Williams. It’s kind-of a distant cousin to gray, yet still perfectly white. I have this in my Master Bedroom, & I have loved every second of it. And surprisingly enough, I think this is the first time I’ve shown my bedroom on the blog. So, people, I introduce to you my favorite room in the house… (actually it may be tied with the kitchen, or maybe the Master bath)… whatever. Here it is…Hopefully you can see that there is a subtle difference between the Nebulous White & the basic white we have on the trim & ceiling. I know some of you still have white-phobia. Someday maybe I’ll post more about this room & my thoughts on white bedrooms & bedding and how to live with them. But for now–thinking about white? Don’t be afraid. It’s strong. It’s bold. It’s the ultimate understated statement color. That’s the power of white.Don’t forget to grab a party button on the sidebar & join the party!

I'd love to help you, but I've had that large chair & ottoman for about 5 or 6 years. Brought it with me from my other house!

That's a really great color. I keep going back between painting my house Decorator's White or Silver Fox.. but I think this color may seal the deal. I need to get a sample. Thanks for sharing.

I love paint colors, can't wait to see the rest of your colors. I will be sure to share some of mine on Thursday. Oh and could you share about your bedding. I love the white and it looks like a grey blue trim? Do you remember where you got it?

Yes! I got the bedding last year at Pottery Barn. The good news is they still have it & it's on sale! (Mine is the Powder Blue)
